"Nice, excelente location, clean and comfortable."

10.0

Very nice small hotel, very well located two blocks from main plaza, but far enough to not hear the noise. Relaxed and clean, ample rooms with kitchenette and services. A fireplace was largely missed on the room, although the provide cozy covers that keep you warm. WiFi was offered but we never found it available.

"Average if not less"

6.0

I love Tapalpa and every time I come to this town I try to stay in a different hotel This time Luna sacra. The hotel is clean, very nice and comfortable. Rooms are big and bathroom as well. Beds are comfortable. We were at hotel only to sleep, we were on town all day. But the thing I really did not like is that there was no coffee ready in the morning. Employee said that the coffee was 3 days old. Seems they only serve coffee on weekends, when most of tourist came. So that made me feel like if I was not a guest. The hotel is located 2 blocks from downtown, but in a hill, so be prepared for walking up and down Price is good. For what you get. Is a little noisy, we were hearing noises from a washing machine all night, and the sound of a truck being loaded wake us up I'm the morning. Not good. Internet service is good, parking is also good and secure Bathrooms are good too, clean, but little old. Just little manteinment and will be perfect. Overall I am upset for the coffee incident Other than that it was ok

"A clean and comfortable place to stay"

10.0

Our room had the simplest set up (by choice). We didn't want a room with a kitchenette since we wanted to experience the local restaurants. Our room overlooked an enclosed courtyard with a pretty fountain, giving it a feel of living in a hacienda. The hotel was a 2-minute walk away from the main square and provided safe parking for our motorcycles. We stayed for 3 nights and would come back to stay here again.

"Excellent location"

8.0

We spent 3 days in this hotel and we really did not get much sleep because the only room available had the bedroom windows facing a noisy street, but other than that, it was a great place to stay. Bertha and Enrique were very friendly and helpful. There are only 8 rooms in this cozy hotel, so you'd better book well ahead of time. To say that the main square is only a few blocks away would be misleading because those "few" blocks are one steep walk uphill, so be prepared to walk! I did like getting up at 8am to go to the main market down the street to buy freshly-made beet and orange juice for 15 pesos. The bus station is also within walking distance. Our room had a small kitchenette, refrigerator, a small dining room, and a sofa bed. The two beds were in a separate room and that made it look like a small apartment. We wanted to use the sofa bed, but it had too many stains on it. No TV in the bedroom though; it was mounted on the wall in the dining room... but do you really need one in such a magical town like Tapalpa?

"Certainly not among the top!"

4.0

After having just returned from Tapalpa, and reading the reviews, it almost seems like we stayed in a different hotel than that which people commented on here. In terms of service it is at the most two stars. We had a reservation, and when we arrived there was no reception, we had to wait for an hour for someone to show up. The room (while spacious) had no glasses, no night tables, we did lit a fire but were quickly engulfed in smoke as the chimneys did not draw properly. The bathroom emitted a foul smell, one could only sleep with the bathroom door closed. There was instant coffee available but nothing else. On the positive side, the lady who ran the hotel was cheerful and helpful, and there was secure parking. One final point, we were the only guests in the hotel. We would not return.

"Quiet, clean and friendly hotel close to downtown"

8.0

We chose this room as it was close to downtown and 1k/night less than the other hotel in town. The staff at the hotel were extremely friendly and helpful, and the room we had 2 beds, a sofa bed and a kitchenette. The hotel is built on a main street, so there's traffic in the morning, but remember this is a SMALL town so it's not too bad. There's hot coffee downstairs in the morning, and a locked parking area behind the hotel. The beds are of the firmer variety which I like, but we know that some folks don't. We didn't remember to bring paper towels which would have been helpful in the kitchen, and the bathroom had the olor de Mexico because the shower valve wasn't functioning well. We've gotten used to that however, so it didn't surprise us. We were new to Tapalpa, so we followed our Garmin to get into town- that was a mistake. Garmin did take us the most direct route, but we ended up making it down a street with less than a inch to spare on both sides of our minivan (not fun). If you're following a GPS, don't take the first turn which is a dirt road that turns to cobblestone, take the second one. Here's the coordinates for the Luna Sacra N19 56.603 W103 45.662

"One of the best!!!!! with goverment recognition"

10.0

I am stayhing at Luna Sacra today (here since Sunday) Today the hotel was recognized by the Goverment Turism board as one of 11 hotels (only 11) in the State of Jalisco with 100% rating. The best standards. They employees are as happy as anyone can be. I could not agree more. I will for sure return to Luna Sacra every time. makes me feel good to know I am staying at one of the best places here in Tapalpa.

"Nice clean hotel, good location, nice managers"

8.0

A group of us went to Tapalpa for the weekend. This was a good compromise for a group where some wanted a cheap room and others wanted something nicer. The place has eight rooms around a pretty courtyard and is an easy walking distance from the center. Our double room was huge, with an equipped kitchen and two beds. There was wireless internet in all the rooms, and coffee and pan dulce (sweet bread) in the morning. The staff were really nice, and very concerned when it seemed as if the other residents were going to be noisy. They made them promise to stop their music, etc. at 11 and they followed through with a quiet night.

"A wonderful place to be"

10.0

I really did not expected when I saw the outside of the hotel that it would be so good. It does have, let me guess, 10 rooms. And you expect not a good service, the opposite is true. It's very clean, the hotel staff is also very friendly, the location is of course wonderful. The free water is excellent, you have coffee (though that's not so good), very nice sweat breads, or what everyone is calling them. I would advise you to stay here if you go to Tapalpa, good priced for what you get.

"Warm and welcoming"

8.0

This is a warm and welcoming place that makes guests feel that they are family. The location is good and the comfortable rooms surround a central courtyard. The rates are also reasonable.
