La Casa de Teresita is a tranquil retreat with a lovely garden in a nice neighborhood of La Paz. The view from the gardens over the city and mountains in the background is amazing! It is so peaceful there, and everyone is so kind, helpful, and friendly. The tour of the main house is really neat to see all of the history of Bolivia and the family who owns the house. It is easy to step out the door to grab a taxi and go 10 minutes to the historic center, or just stay and enjoy the grounds and the neighborhood it is in. There are plenty of restaurants nearby to choose from all within a 10 minute stroll. The breakfast is tasty, the shower is strong and hot, the beds are comfortable, and the rooms are large with plenty of counter space and closet space to keep things organized. We loved our stay here and look forward to another visit!

Welch friedlicher Ort in La Paz!

"Beautiful hotel in a heritage building with huge rooms and comfy beds!"

9.0

This hotel is in a beautiful old heritage building and is like stepping back in time when you walk through the door! The room was huge and the bed was perfect! Breakfast was a bit more basic than I was expecting, but served its purpose. Staff were welcoming and helpful when I arrived somewhat later in the evening from Copacabana. It's also in a seemingly quite safe and quieter area in La Paz.

The location isn't ideal - a bit far from where everything tends to happen from a tourism standpoint in La Paz. I did walk the 50 minutes consistently uphill to the Witches Market for my walking tour, so it's not necessary to Uber/taxi everywhere from this hotel.

"Not recommended unless you have USD cash"

7.0

Lovely old historical house. Really nice room with a comfy bed and great shower. The place was quiet at night and had a lovely garden with resident puppy called Preto. Breakfast was acceptable (see below) and the breakfast staff were super friendly and kind.

Location was a bit far from town although it was easy to get public transport out the front. There weren't many restaurants nearby. The bread given at breakfast was a bit stale. We had an issue with the owner who asked for more money due to differences between the "government" exchange rate and black market rate between USD and Bolivianos. In the end after we were given a convoluted list of options, we had to book and pay through a different travel website even though the original Booking.com listing said we could pay by Visa and it did not specify payment was to be made in USD cash. This made us very uncomfortable and we would not stay here again. Many other places in Bolivia used Paypal for payment in USD or accepted the Government rate as correct (after our experience here I always asked what the conversion rate was...).
