The Royal Mail Hotel is a basic pub in a good location on Braidwood’s attractive main street.

Despite paying $220 for the hotel’s only room with an ensuite we didn’t have a great sleep. The walls are thin and there was constant noise all night from pub guests using the adjacent shared toilets. The king bed in the small room was old and noisy and it was hard to avoid hitting your knee on the protruding corners of the wooden frame. We drive an electric car, so it was a pleasant surprise to see much appreciated hospitality in the form of two EV chargers in the pub’s carpark. We moved the car to the chargers, got out our charging cable, but frustratingly both were out of action and judging by the cobwebs across the sockets, have been for some time. We like Braidwood, but if we stay again, we will checkout other accomodation.
