Gasthof-Hotel Goldenes Schiff

The person who ran the place was very friendly and responsive when we booked and upon arrival. The value was pretty good and the location was very easy to find. The room was clean and the shower was truly fantastic for weary cycle tourists on a hot day. The location is also right across the street from the Danube river and it was a beautiful sunset with air balloon filling the sky in the distance. We ate our supper on a picnic table on the river and it was lovely.

The room did not have AC and it was very hot and leaving the windows and doors full open was not an option as the mosquitoes were plentiful. It was really stuffy all night and that lead to a less comfortable sleep than we hoped. As well, the road was VERY busy with traffic making it very noisy which is never great. Lastly, for arrival we were lucky as another guest was coming out as we do NOT have cell phone in Europe so we would not have been able to telephone the phone number. We had arrived a bit early, but the owner came along right away so all was good.
