The accommodation was clean and very pleasant. The host was kind, helpful and welcoming. Breakfast was very good and dinner was delicious. The country Inn is across the road from the Danube, where there is a recreational area for swimming, sunbathing and beach volleyball. The Inn is also ideally situated for exploring the beautiful Wachau Valley.

Room was big enough and clean. Beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was really good. Andrea was very helpful and super kind. She helped us pay a car fine which we didn't know how to do it. I'd repeat this place for sleeping around Melk.

Wirtshaus Gruber is a small family-owned and operated property offering the traveller authentic experiences of Austrian hospitality, food and beverage. The property is spotlessly clean and well presented; the staff are very helpful and friendly and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The owner is a very capable chef so the meals here are first-rate and provide excellent value for money. Our room faced the highway but was not compromised by adverse traffic noise; in fact we left a window open all night to offer a little additional cooling and we slept soundly without being disturbed. The room was large, light and airy; the bathroom able to accommodate 2 people at once. The recreation area opposite the property was a hive of activity during the warm weather and we spent a large part of one day in the cool shade of a large tree just relaxing, watching families enjoy paddleboat, swimming and sail board activities. People using this recreation area were very friendly.

There was nothing we didn’t like. We were a little surprised to find there were no snacks available at the bar - such as potato crisps or nuts - to nibble on while enjoying a drink.

We were on a biking trip down the Danube, and looked for accommodation close to Melk. This wirthaus is very delightful, old yet with all mod cons. The restaurant below is excellent. There is a separate garage to store safely our ebikes, with tools. The ride to Melk was about 15 minutes.

It's a nice place with very professional, supportive and friendly staff :) The room was very clean. The access to Danube is just in front of hotel, the restaurant has a pleasant terrace, there is also parking. Kids friendly. Would return again!

breakfast can be improved with cereals, soya milk and with buffet. nevertheless the lady is very kind and makes refills, if you like
