The location was really good. It was in the redwoods near Su-meg park, agate beach and about a 15 min. drive from Arcata.

This property was very neglected and not kept to any kind of acceptable standard. The first thing we noticed was the pot with the dead plant in front of our door and the burned out light above our door. When entering the room we were met with a strong smell of burnt meat. The stove and oven were very crusty and dirty and had obviously not been cleaned at all for a long time. WHEN WE OPENED THE MICROWAVE WE DISCOVERED THE REMAINS OF SOMEONE ELSES BREAKFAST. There was a pan in the oven that was totally black and burnt and another frying pan in the cupboard that was in the same condition. The pots and pans were not usable. All cupboards and drawers were very sticky. I tried to close the door to the kitchen to mitigate the smell, but it was broken and would not budge. The room was very dark and there was no good lighting except over the beds. There was a lamp in a corner, but it was very dim and there was not a comfortable chair to sit in. The outside area was just as run down and unpleasant as the inside. All the furniture was dirty and shabby. The barbeque and the barbeque tools were crusty and dirty. A used plastic cup sat on a table for 2 days of our stay. One day when we were gone we put out the "do not disturb" sign, however someone came in our room anyway to drop off towels and neglected to lock the door on the way out. The overall feel of this place is that of neglect. The kitchen just needs a really good cleaning. For very little money it could be fixed up into an acceptable property. But it feels as if nobody cares to make any effort. We have stayed at other cabins in the area and they were great.

Loved the inn, the surroundings, Kelly for setting us up for a nighttime fire, the comfortable bed and sheets, the stocked kitchen, the excellent coffee…best place to stay in a beautiful place.
