Sidney Waterfront Inn & Suites

The location is great, lovely view

The hotel is run down and needs some cosmetic work I.e. painting etc. bathroom very small and inconvenient. Door has to be closed or toilet is inaccessible. Bathroom floor corners are dirty. Phone charger didn’t work. Staff not friendly, they didn’t even smile when I was checking in.

The room was beautiful as was the view from my room. Sidney is a cute town with lots of amenities.

It was pretty expensive. $400 is a lot to pay for 1 night stay.

Enjoyable stay at the Waterfront Inn & Suites in Sidney, BC. This was the last night of my one-week poke around on Vancouver Island. It is located on the boardwalk in downtown Sidney, BC, a short distance from the BC Ferry terminal and the ferry to Tsawwassen, BC. I stayed in the newer annex, on the 2nd floor overlooking the harbour. Nearby shops are fun to explore. The Riva Restaurant is in the same complex. It was a great area to hang out on my last night before heading home to the Okanagan.

The beds were very comfortable and the room was certainly big enough.

I asked for a sea view. I got one, but it was also the parking lot. Still a nice stay though.

The room was exceptionally spacious, featuring a generous closet for luggage and a separate one for outerwear. The kitchenette was thoughtfully equipped with all the essentials, including dish soap and paper towels, ensuring a comfortable and convenient stay. The property’s location—right by the sea and within walking distance of restaurants and the downtown area—was ideal. Additional touches such as the fireplace and Chromecast-enabled television added to the overall comfort. The bed was large and very comfortable, and both the check-in and housekeeping staff were notably friendly and helpful.

While the breakfast offering did not fully meet expectations given the hotel's price point—particularly during what appeared to be high season—it was nonetheless appreciated. Guests were required to collect breakfast from the main building and bring it back to their rooms, which may not suit everyone's preferences. Additionally, as European guests, we were somewhat disappointed that smoking was not permitted on the balcony, which limited our ability to fully enjoy the outdoor space
