Cabañas Palos Locos

Well, nice beach and caribbean warm sea. But i think that's it. Everything else was a nightmare.

This was worst stay ever in my whole life. I traveled with my wife across whole world every continent dozens of hotels but this one was ... a bigest nightmare ever. No runnig watter for 3 days. Extreme noisy rooms, from gasolin engine right behind the wall, every night and whole night.. We could not sleep for a minute. Breakfast very very poor and far away from something what you can call tasty ! We just simply run away.... we booked 6 days after 3 we just payd and run away..... You want an advice ....Avoid this place .... i mean realy avoid ! The guy who's run this place is friendly... nothing personal against him ... but no. For the price what they ask, you can get much much better place where to stay ! And we had to pay whole 5 days.... after 3 days in that hell on earth ! Simply they destroy our vacation.

The description wasn't accurate, I stayed one day and had to pay two plus the rooms were not as described... really disappointed. The answer from owner wasn't anything about customer service, all he was looking for was to cash out... I was looking to have this place as my every year unplugged for me and family but it didn't make the need points thanks to the owner. Stuff at the place was good no complaints about them...

Location and view

There was almost no water, there was no electricity during the day. It feels way too expensive considering the money that one is paying.

On the plus side, Sr. Rodrigo was excellent with communication, and frankly did much more to assist me in arranging transport to/from airport than the staff at the Sofitel Calablancas, where I stayed the previous night. I really appreciated the care they took to help me get & from the place. Staff on site also went out of their way, with a young man carrying my heavy duffel to/ from Parequadero #2 and his sister also helping when I erroneously thought I had lost my phone.

My main critique is that I chose this property because it was significantly more expensive than surrounding ones and I was hoping for a bit more in terms of quality of the accommodations. For $50/ night, this just did not rival other accommodations in Colombia I've gotten at this price point. The stairs to the room were rickety and a bit on the dangerous side, and the place was generally in a state of disrepair (toilet not working, though water to force a flush was provided), barely a trickle of water from shower to brush teeth, same from shower). Also electricity only from 6 pm to 6 am. None of this is atypical in the area, and had I paid $20 or $25 I would have expected it. Of course prices are inflated along Playa Blanca, but if you book this place, know that you will get a great view, your bed will rock at night with strong waves, the ocean will be your best shower, and it's backpacker / hostel standards.

This is the best place to go if you are looking for something quiet , simple and safe for family and children. If you're looking for super comfort and 5 stars conditions, probably it's not your place.. but , if you want to have a little patch of beach and sea all for yourself and your family, then this is just the place .. we had a great time there ( me , my wife and the little one , staff are very attentive and always around to cater for your needs and ,also , point you to the best spots on the beach where to buy food and other things at good prices . They are also in process of refurbishment,to bring a couple more rooms and renew the place a bit .. All in all , a great experience on the beaches of Baru !
