Hotel OBEGA PACIFIC

Very close to the airport (within walking distance), beach, and center of town. This is a good rest stop if you need a place to stay for a night before going on to other remotes parts within the surrounding area. Very Helpful staff - I forgot my shoes at checkout and they contacted me after I had already left to find out where I was, and then went out of their way to deliver them by bike.

The window in the hotel room was very hard to open, wasn’t working properly and had no screen, which caused issues with mosquitos - but it was not practical to leave the window closed since there was no air conditioning. In general, property maintenance is lacking. Hotel staff arranged transportation from the airport but did not mention anything about an associated fee (albeit minimal) until after arriving at the hotel. All communication from the hotel is in Spanish so if you don’t speak the language, you MUST KNOW that the hotel (and all establishments in Nuquí) does not accept credit cards and there are NO ATM’s in the town so it is absolutely imperative that you arrive with plenty of cash.

Clean and comfortable hotel in Nuqui, with a nice rooftop restaurant with a sea view for very tasty meals. (Also: good wifi!) Good fan in the room. What really makes it is the staff - super helpful, nice and attentive. Pick-up at airport, organising tours, helping store luggage and generally being lovely. Recommended.
