Hotel Danis

We stayed here for a ski weekend and payed 325CHF for 2 nights. The hotel is in pretty bad shape, if you give a step outside of your room, the floor is so old that even at the other corner of the hallway people can hear it. It only had shared bathrooms! And these were not really prepared for the amount of people it had per floor. The staff weren't really friendly neither very helpful. The room was OK but we woke up with people walking on the hallway, not because they were talking but because the floor was noisy. No wifi. I just find that for what the offer and the lack of comfort the prices are outrageous.

Price are to high for the non comfort! never ever! positiv free parking negativ, loud sound from the alphutte next to the hotel. no tv in the room, no wifi and cold and smells bad in the hotel. i am disapointet! happy for one night and no longer stay. bed are really old and uncomfortable.

The building is old and you can hear everything. That could be the only negative aspect. But with earplugs I could sleep very well. The room was clean. I had to share the bathroom and it was always very clean as well. Food in the restaurant downstairs was tasty. Breakfast was plenty of fruit, cheese, müesli, coffee, etc...

We arrived in Lenzerheide by chance looking for a ski resort which was high and offered a hotel which was reasonably cheap and had good access to the snow. We flew into Milan and drove up from there arriving around 1 am. the hotel had given us instructions on how to get entry into the hotel, a key code into the carpark and then another key code to get our room key and access to the hotel. The instructions were quite simple and straight forward and once we realised the entrance was indeed from the carpark it was very easy. It did help to have lights on our mobile phones though to see and fill in the key pad. Room was simple with a sink and shower/bathroom about 10 feet away. Beds were comfortable and plenty of cupboard space. We were able to plug in all our electrical bits and pieces easily. Breakfast was served downstairs in the main dining room. It was excellent, plenty of choice and lots of food available. The service was self service except for hot drains and staff were really nice. They seemed a little surprised by us but once we were smiling they thawed and responded in a nice way. Strangely people were allowed to walk through the hotel/down the stairs in ski boots, never had that before. People left their skis and ski boots outside their rooms, no problems at all. We ate in the hotel for our evening meal, it was easier and convenient. It was also clear that many of the clients were Swiss, and in many cases local. the food was good and reasonably priced, drink was good as well. We stayed 3 days and left late on Sunday afternoon, asking if we could leave our bags in the hotel and have a shower. They needed the room for new guests but provided storage and a shower without any problems. The manager/owner was lovely and very friendly, and they worked hard to make you happy. Will probably visit again next year with my son to ski the area again. Still a lot to explore. While in the resort we used the local wellness centre which was expensive but really extensive and well designed. For £18 we got swimming in the outdoor pool as well as the indoor areas, jacuzzi outside, sauna, steam and plunge, and an ice walk through cold pool.

Very simple and basic rooms, but very comfortable beds... Seriously, very comfortable down comforters and pillows. Very clean common shower and toilet areas with strong water pressure and plenty of hot water. If skiing or going hiking, very fresh water to fill camel backs and water bottles. Also, free limited parking outside the back door. Best part of it all, was Angelique Lenz, the manager. She was smart, friendly, thoughtful and offer guniunine assistance every time I saw her. She even asked abut my daughter in the afternoon when I said she wasnt feeling well that morning. She also went out of her way one evening to help us understand the menu (which is void of English). Overall, very simple yet great place to stay with great value, food and outdoor apre ski spot on the patio (sort of outdoor glass iglo with lots of fun visitors)

Although well located in Lenzerheide, we had a terrible experience at Hotel Danis. First, they didn't allow late check-in (after 9pm) on Friday evening and also didn't allow for a friend of ours to pick up the key for us. We had to call twice and insist for them to finally agree to give the key to our friend. Then on Saturday evening, after a long day of skiing, we were very much looking forward to a warm shower... but no luck, there was only ice freezing water. At the front desk, the owner didn't even apologize for the inconvenient. When checking out, we ask for a rebate because of the water problem. After a long discussion they finally gave us CHF15 back!!!! This shows how much they value our business. I will never go there again!
