The owners were excellent people. It was a good distance between Liberia airport on our way to Arenal Volcano.

The accommodation is bare bones.

Cielo Azul was amazing! Would absolutely stay again. The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly, the food was delicious, accommodations clean. The location in Tilaran is great as well. Most of Costa Rica is 1 lane roads, so travel can be slow. Tilaran places you about 1.5 hours from many beautiful locations: La Fortuna, MonteVerde, Volcan Tenorio National Park, Palo Verde National Park, each with its own different microclimate and ecosystem. Lake Arenal itself, where Tilaran is located, is beautiful and has many great activities and food.

"Adequate for the most part but nothing to write home about."

The room was very nice and clean. Pool was not ready for use on the first day we arrived. They said it was being treated. Second day pool was open but still looked a bit dirty. breakfast was okay but a bit simple.

The pool readiness and cleanliness. We arrived with an extra person for one of the rooms and the additional cost was too high in my opinion. Also they close the gate around 11 pm at night so you have to find the owner who lives onsite to get the gate opened!
