OHiggins Park Hotel

It is a good hotel for a good price. The staff is friendly and there is a good breakfast. Rooms are a bit basic, but clean and comfortable. They do have limited parking available, but the parking garage is very tricky with a steep and narrow ramp. Would not recommend parking your car there, I almost did not get out. The neighbourhood is not the best in Valparaiso, but there is often police nearby. It is near a big shopping mall and supermarket.

The hotel is only a 5 min walk from the bus station, which is convenient. Room was comfortable and clean and breakfast was good. It is only a 25-30 min walk to Sotomayor Square, so location was not bad.

It wasn't immediately clear where to enter the hotel at first. There are bars locking all entrances and you have to ring the bell to get someone to answer the door. Also, these bars are always locked, so you need someone to let you out and back in. I noticed that all businesses in Valparaiso are like this, so it seems par for the course, but was a little unnerving. However, staff was always on hand and was very quick to let me out and back in every day.

Very comfortable Bed and Linens. Breakfast spread was very nice. Location close to shopping and park.

Decent hotel close to the bus station and big shopping mall. Good restaurant next door. Room was clean and with lot of natural light. Staff is very helpful.
