Typically German, understated but good.

Good location and convenient parking. The hotel restaurant was very good, and the staff were very friendly and attentive. The room was a good size, and the bed was comfortable. We had a nice river view.

The hall entry is quite loud (echo) when others are arriving later at night. The decor is very dated.

Professional operated hotel in an excellent location. Good food including breakfast with friendly service.

The entire staff was extremely friendly. I needed to stay one extra night and management made this happen. This is a family ran business. I highly recommend everyone to stay here. Breakfast was outstanding. Service was best I have ever received. If ever in this area there is only one place I will stay from this point forward. Plus they have a gated place for bike riders. Fantastic

Nothing. Everything exceeded my expectation

Firstly the picture shown is soon to be opened Schloss Lieser 200 metres along the road from Schosshotel Raatz. We had an apartment in Raatz consisting of living room, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom with double bed. Overall the apartment was very clean (there is a daily maid service) and overlooked a small courtyard. Being at the rear of the hotel it had no view but it was quiet. I would agree with other reviewers that it needs modernising, the kitchen would get considerable interest from those interested in late 1970's early 1980's designs as it was immaculate. The general furnishings were also dated but functional and reasonably comfortable, very much in the 'Bauhaus' style. Unfortunately the mattresses were also showing their age and not very comfortable, and for goodness sake get rid of the plastic mattress covers. Overall the hotel is well located and presented being on the main riverfront road and 500 metres from the village centre. We only had breakfasts there and the restaurant was very clean with a table always reserved for the guests, the food and coffee was very good for typical German breakfast fair. The staff are friendly and helpful though only one speaks English well. There is no wi-fi but we were told it should be there next year, not super-fast like in GB though. We were staying there for the local village Strassenfest and our regular accommodation was already fully booked. Being frequent travelers to this area, Schlosshotel Raatz was a reasonable fill in.

The Schlosshotel Raatz is not the one shown on these fotos here. That´s the Schloss Lieser. The Schlosshotel is very basic, old fashioned, simple and old furniture in the rooms and the food in the restaurant is below average (heavy, low quality). The service is very friendly and the breakfast is good. It says a lot the the management put the famous castle as pic of their hotel here!
