Loved the place, very cosy and friendly environment. The breakfast was prepared with love for every individual guest and table.

I had a very good experience, so nothing not to like.

The room did not have any cooling fan which would have been appreciated as weather was very hot and humid

I had booked at 21:04 for the same night on Booking. While the booking was accepted, when I got there (at about 21:31), there was nobody to check me in. I knocked, rang the door, and phoned at 21:34 the provided number, but to no avail. The check-in times shown are not consistent. They show up to 21:00 (for check-in) on their web page, but once I booked it said up to 18:00. Why this discrepancy? Most importantly, why would they take a booking if they can't check me in? How can you take a booking at 21:04 for the same day if you say checkins are until 21:00? Now they are asking me for the money but I'm not paying a penny, even if that means spending more in courts or wherever I need to! There was literally no nuisance caused to them by the situation, while or me it was a big inconvenience, as I had to find a place to stay even later at night, in a country where they rarely check-in at that time and on a Friday night. I understand it might be a systemic thing in Germany that you cannot check in "so late" (21:00 .... really?) , for the most part. However, please make sure you don't take bookings if you can't fulfill them. This means making sure travelers cannot book so late for the same day if you won't have anyone there to check them in! It wasted me a lot of time including getting sidetracked from the main direction, and then having to search for a different place. For your own good, please avoid at all cost, to avoid falling for this kind of trap: especially if you're not German / don't speak German, as this increases the difficulty of accessing Consumer Protection

The place is warm, close to the center of Iphofen and welcoming, and we appreciated much the opportunity to drop off our luggage early. Some guests will appreciate its rich decoration for sure. Breakfast is plentiful for a small guesthouse and the hostess is attentive, which is nice, and offers what is not available at the moment.

It's only when you make a non-refundable booking that you learn that breakfast is compulsory, making the booking 40 euros more expensive - in our opinion this (indicated as "Ihre Optionen") is misleading and not fair to the hosts who distinguish compulsory price/extras. A 10 point rating suggestion made by the host wouldn't have been necessary. In both cases more freedom to choose have led to better experience.
