The rating is not a 10 just because of the smell outside the hotel (not a hotel fault but it is rather smelly area due to cattle???)

We just happened upon this hotel by chance as we left the motorway. Friendly and helpful staff. We got an enormous room with a balcony in the guest house next to the main building. Lots of free parking. As there didnt' seem to be anything nearby we ate dinner at the restaurant. Really good local food at a very decent price. No fan or air conditioning so we had to sleep with the windows open - and were visited by numerous flies and mosquitoes. The breakfast buffet had a little bit of everything. But nothing was kept chilled so everything was at room temperature (OK for bread, less so for yoghurt and butter etc). I had a look into the Fitness room. They had squeezed in three machines (treadmills + bike) into a small room. Nothing for people with claustrophobia. There was a wellness area as well - but unfortunately we didn't have time to check it out (extra fee for bath robe and jacuzzi).

Very convinient for a stop on your way somewhere. The room was ok, the restaurant was ok, with enormous portions, breakfast was fine. But the hotel is situated in a small dorf and the stench from the pigs was gross, to say the least. Staff speaks practically no english and seems unused to english-speaking guests.

A modern efficient businessman's style hotel good for overnight stops but not cosy and friendly for a week's holiday stay. Banks of sockets good for charging your equipment and a good desk for working. Lacks character and charm and is several miles outside Alsfeld so you need transport. Near the motorway for long distance travellers. I had a mosquito problem in my room but otherwise food and the room were fine.

This hotel is located in a little village which is literally five minutes drive from the exit off the autobahn, so fantastically convenient for the through traveller. We only booked a couple of hours before we arrived (not quite in high season) and it was already pretty full, so be warned. We had a room on the top floor of the annexe (NB - no lift/elevator), which was perfectly comfortable and very good value, but pretty hot even at night because of the high temperatures during the day. There is no A/C, but even a fan would have been nice. But the room was a decent size, clean and comfortable. The staff were helpful, and readily agreed to serve dinner on the outside veranda (again, the restaurant inside was uncomfortably hot). The food was perfectly adequate. The breakfast was OK but they really could have tried a bit harder to improve it. There is free wifi throughout but it is so slow that it was essentially useless.

The supper we had was excellent, and the buffet breakfast was really good. But The beds were real hard. We were a family of four and one child slept on a pull out chair bed, and we travelled with an air matress the other child used. The towels were old and scratchy. You were reminded you were in the country by the foul smell of manure reaking through the open door. Not sure how they achieved their star rating.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Not speaking any German made things interesting, but the staff did a good job of trying to communicate and there were no major language related issues. The hotel was a good value. The bed was very comfortable. The shower had plenty of hot water with great water pressure. The floor was very clean, which isn't the case at many hotels. Had dinner at the hotel restaurant. It was very crowded and the staff was a bit overwhelmed, but they remained friendly and the food was very good. The breakfast buffet (small extra charge) was typical German hotel breakfast, but very satisfying. This property seems to be mainly targeting domestic travelers, but I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if I'm in the area.

The hotel is good. You might get reminded by rural smell that you are in the countryside.... To us it is a mistery how this hotel could seriously serve breakfast on a Sunday starting at 6:30 ( untill about 10:00). The hotel has a very big celebration room (250 people) which targets large weddings. Rooms are well kept. Bathrooms are not supernew but ok. The hotel was ok, but we think.not really worth the price, which we paid (92 Euros).

This hotel near the autobahn is convenient for a one night stop-over. Check in and check out was easy and fast. The room was quite large, with a good bed and very quiet. The internet worked OK. The dinner in the restaurant was traditionally German and served by a friendly young girl. The breakfast buffet was also traditional German with fresh bread.
