Not so far from tram stop to Frankfurt

Stephen’s warm welcome was appreciated after a long day of travel. The free chocolates and bottled water were also a nice touch. I appreciated Stephen’s detailed advice about how to get there and his communication before we arrived. After taking both the train/tram option and the bus to and from the airport, I agree with Stephen’s suggestion to take bus 62. It’s a more direct route to and from the airport than the tram. With the train, you have to switch to a tram, which felt less safe and was more tedious than the bus option. Both the tram and bus pick up and drop off just down the road from the hotel - maybe about a five minute walk to either. The town itself is quaint. We were there such a short time we didn’t get to explore the town but there is a market and a few restaurants nearby. I felt safe with my kids. The family room is spacious, brightly lit and seems well equipped in the kitchen. There is no air conditioning but we kept the upper windows open all night and were fine in early June. Having two toilets was also nice for a family room. Checkout process was easy and the rate was very good for the area. If you opt to go to the main square in Frankfurt, it is about 21 stops via tram. It seems like it took close to 40 minutes to get there.

The only negative was the windows only have sheer curtains and, while the lower windows have an opaque film over them, parts were peeled off and there are unobstructed views from the building next door into the upper windows. This could be a privacy concern. We just made sure to change in the bathroom.

My flight was rebooked for the next day and I had to find a shelter for one night. Everything around the airport was very expensive, but this hotel is just 7 min by taxi and fair priced. The lady there was very helpful and gave me some good advice on how to spend my day in the city and how to get to the airport the next morning.

When I arrived the main door was closed and there was a message "call this number". My phone is not working outside of my country and thanks to the guest of the hotel, who showed me the door from the side of the building and rang the lady in charge. Otherwise I would stay in the rain for ages. This is probably my problem, but I found this inconvenient. Free wifi did not work at all. But I found wifi in the nearest restaurant. There is no a/c in the hotel, so I am not sure how it is in the summer, but in May the open window worked well. There is no elevator and those stairs are not very pleasant to bring heavy luggage up, but I did not have any, so I was OK.

It did not include breakfast but the area had 2 supermarket very near. Kitchen has sufficient pans and utensils good for cooking.

It is a quaint old house with a lot of decoration art details. Impressed.
