The Pipers' Tryst Hotel

The only thing to stop me giving this hotel a top score of 100% is that if I tell you how good it really is I may not be able to get booked in again ourselves! As a party if 13 we stated last June, stated a long weekend just now (jube2026} and have booked a long weekend in June 2027 What more can I say?…. Except, a massive thank you to Natalie, Emily, and all their team Yiu did a marvellous job for us all this weekend, you should be proud of yourselves Thank you Sam

If you are travelling from the airport,catch the 500 bus to buchannan bus station. It’s an easy ten minute walk with luggage to the hotel. There are plenty of restaurants,cafes and shops nearby. Bus services to all over Scotland are from buchannan street. The hotel is part of the pipers centre and museum. It is a beautiful old building. However, with old buildings you must expect quirks etc. in this particular case, I found the floorboards on the upper floors extremely creaky! I booked direct, and got an excellent rate for a double room single occupancy including breakfast. Check in was easy and I found all the staff friendly and caring. My room (4) on the first floor was spacious, comfy double bed, flat screen tv, tea/coffee making facilities etc. the bathroom was modern, tho water pressure on the shower a bit weak. Breakfast was a good choice, tho first morning it was only continental due to an oven malfunction. However, 2nd morning was the full Scottish, and it’s excellent. I also had dinner first evening in the hotel, and had the lamb rump. This was one of the best lamb rump meals I’ve ever had. In a city full of corporate hotels, the pipers tryst makes for a great Scottish alternative.

Friendly staff, without exception. Nothing was too much bother, approachable and professional. The room was lovely, clean and well decorated. The windows opened allowing fresh air to circulate. Breakfast was perfection! Beautifully cooked and great presentation. Easy location to find and close to all the amenities required. Will definitely recommend to friends and family.

Just a personal preference I prefer to hand keys back in person which allows a verbal comment about the stay but I understand that putting the key in a box as you leave is quicker!
