Breakfast was fine and to be expected. Location was good for us as we were going to Grosmont

Room was tired and paintwork etc badly scuffed. Ceiling in our room was stained and just needed a fresh coat of paint. Overall the hotel was in need of refurbishment

This is seriously good dog friendly establishment. Dogs and their humans are welcomed and treated to the highest quality rooms, food and service. Nothing is too much trouble. Beautiful village on the moors with a steam train rail station for trips to Whitby and Pickering. So much to see and do. We had a fabulous stay..

It was all wonderful.
