"Great food but hotel tired"

Breakfast was fine and to be expected. Location was good for us as we were going to Grosmont

Room was tired and paintwork etc badly scuffed. Ceiling in our room was stained and just needed a fresh coat of paint. Overall the hotel was in need of refurbishment

Excellent food and marvellous choice and service from the very friendly staff

Our room was very hot but obviously the staff couldn't help the heatwave - a fan was provided.

"Wonderful stay on the North Yorkshire Moors!"

This is seriously good dog friendly establishment. Dogs and their humans are welcomed and treated to the highest quality rooms, food and service. Nothing is too much trouble. Beautiful village on the moors with a steam train rail station for trips to Whitby and Pickering. So much to see and do. We had a fabulous stay..

It was all wonderful.

"Lovely hotel"

Lovely big rooms, excellent bathroom, nice food. Dog friendly (with some rules).

Beds were a little small and TV didn’t work.
