Comfy bed and friendly staff

The two ladies who look after the place were wonderful and friendly. True northern hospitality. There was a bar downstairs but we were never disturbed by loud music etc that you would normally expect from a bar.

The rooms are accessed by a metal fire escape which would not be ideal in bad weather or if you have trouble with stairs.

The host was friendly and welcoming. While I was there it was quiet. The room was spacious, well equipped and looked great.

The main thing that brought down my rating was the room came with a revolting odour. This made just being in the room was really unpleasant. The curtain rail and the glass bathroom shelf both looked like they were ready to fall down, but it was the smell that was the only troubling issue for me.
