We had the impression that we were being rushed. Were having a drink at the terrace enjoying the views of Loch Ness and dinner menus were brought out to us to choose what we wanted for dinner. Some minutes later, still enjoying our drink at the terrace, we were asked to go into the dinning room for our dinner. We had dinner and went to our room. Came back down approx. 1 hour later for a drink at the bar and the place was closed. It was disappointing.

The place is pretty dated The access from the bar to the deck doors were locked and we were told to go around the long way…in case someone opened the doors and left them open! Thats where the view was on the deck. Put a sign up asking to keep door closed? For dinner we were sat in a corner under a TV which was showing programs…. was not ideal, same spot for breakfast. I ordered a second glass of wine with dinner….my husband ordered a whisky nightcap….. we were going to retire to our room with them but I was told that I could not take my red wine to the room in case it got spilled on the carpet!! What? I have never heard such a thing 🧐 The room was pretty expensive and overpriced for the standard of the hotel.

Foyers Guest House was Clean and comfortable. The food was very tasty. (Note, we aren't whisky connoisseurs but if you are, this is a real bonus as the hotel has a fine selection) Louise works very hard and makes big efforts to make the guests have a great stay. We were very lucky with the weather- a gorgeous couple of days near Loch Ness. For us it was perfect but obviously cannot be guaranteed all the time. Would happily give a bonus point for the Scottish weather this time. There is a lovely area to view the Loch and enjoy a drink outside. Also, the hosts have 5 gorgeous cats (who don't come into the house in case you are not a cat fan. if you do love cats they are lovely.)

The only complaint about the property is that there are quite a few signs in rooms saying "don't do this, that" etc. This did not feel very welcoming when we arrived. it also is not really representative of the hotel, as actually the hosts make a big effort to create a really good experience for the guests, so maybe a slightly different tone would work. It should be noted that there are surprisingly few Hotels near Loch Ness-mainly smaller guest houses

Totally loved this little place, amazing view across the Loch, staff were so lovely, and the food was wonderful. Will be visiting again, thank you so much😊
