The room was very clean and the staff were very helpful. An unexpected bonus was the excellent food on offer. The restaurant is always packed for lunch and dinner.

The property is very run down. Exterior and bar are are grubby. The bedrooms were in a timber annex.

Breakfast included was very good. Choice of continental or cooked. I had a generous helping of smoked salmon and scrambled eggs.

I was asked to check in by 5 pm as it was a Sunday and they obviously closed. This wasn’t a problem and I was given a key, but when I returned at 9.30 there was no body around
