The Speech House

Every one of the hotel staff we met were really friendly and welcoming. The whole ambience was very warm and relaxed. We loved all the history attached to the building - really interesting to learn about the Verderers Court. Our room was a really good size and had everything we needed. Everything was very clean and the bed very comfortable. The food in the Orangery was good and the breakfast was excellent. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely return at some point.

The only small niggle was the shower. The water pressure was very weak, but this was probably not helped by the fact that we were on the top floor.

Would of been ideal if dog friendly rooms included a bath!

waitress service and bar staff - all young people had very good customer skills, polite and courteous. Breakfast on first day - a good old fashioned 'full English' was great

buffet breakfast on 2nd day 1st evening meal in restaurant - trying too hard with menu, presentation of food was good but too many mixtures of flavours/spices hiding taste of true foods. Waiting staff and cleaning staff (room) very polite and helpful.
