Waverley Hotel

Friendly staff. Location was fantastic for what we required. Very comfortable beds. Loved it. Food was exceptional.

Lack of instructions on how to use shower. Hadn't used one like that before. Difficult to get bags up front steps without help.

The location was good for visiting Peterhead.

The extractor in the bathroom was really loud. Just a minor thing.

The location was good - easy to find, local authority parking nearby, close to areas and attractions we wanted to visit. Our room was clean and comfortable, and two windows on opposite walls allowed us plenty of fresh air. The fridge in the room was handy for sandwiches and drinks etc, and there was plenty of drawer and hanging space. The bathroom had a good amount of space at the window for us to unpack our toiletries, and the fan was effective without being noisy. Towels were clean and fresh, hand soap was provided, and the over mirror light was very useful. Having a restaurant and bar in the hotel is very convenient. Restaurant serves standard pub grub, and the menu has a good choice of dishes to suit most at reasonable prices. The food we ordered was hot and tasty, and delivered to table in good time. Decent selection of drinks available, my favourite tipple wasn't stocked here but I was happy with the other choices on offer. The room price is fair for what's on offer, there's no frills or bells and whistles, but it made for a comfortable base after being out and about all day.

Bar patrons could quite clearly be heard from the room, and they were a noisy bunch. Even with a Bluetooth sleep mask, I could quite clearly hear them singing and shouting. Lovely that they were having a nice time, but the bar should perhaps remind patrons that hotel guests - and likely local people as well - are trying to sleep. Having to order breakfast the night before wasn't ideal, so we chose to have breakfast somewhere else. The restaurant is also closed on a Tuesday, so I'm not sure how we would have ordered for the Wednesday as staff never mentioned this when checking in, we only noticed a sign at the restaurant door as we were leaving for the day.

Beds were very comfortable. The restaurant offers a variety of different food at reasonable prices- chicken fajitas were lovely!

10am check out time seemed slightly unreasonable
