The Rochford Hotel

Nice cheerful greeting at booking in for our 1 night stay. Breakfast was very nice, but the bacon needed a little more cooking

Location was perfect for visiting family.

No beans on the full English breakfast. The radiators in the room click loudly throughout the night. The toilet moving. Seems a bit run down. Needs refurbishment. The mattress on the bed is just spring. You sink and very uncomfortable

The Parking The Shower The TV Channels in the room.

Only one plug available in the room for charging phones and not near bedside tables. Lumpy bed Wobbly Table in Room Freezing Cold Bathroom Carpet needs Vacuuming Freezing Cold Hotel that did not have the heating on throughout. Over cooked breakfast Seemed that there was only one member of staff working doing both front desk and serving breakfast. Hotel trying to cut corners and save money. Only 1 toilet paper provided in room. Requested late checkout and not provided. Hotel required an extra £10 for 1 hr. After we checked in at 20:30 and had requested this due to being newly wed. Check-in was only after 16:00 and until 22:00. We had the executive room, nothing special. No coat hangers in wardrobe. TV on the wall to the far left side of the bed, so only 1 person could enjoy the view. Breakfast was 7:00-9:00 and Checkout was at 10 Am.

The location as I've recently moved to Suffolk so I came down to Essex to meet friends for lunch. Then I wanted to spend the evening with my daughter watching the Strictly Come Dancing final. We got dessert from the Sainsbury's and KFC then settled in to watch the final. All staff were extremely friendly - it's nice to be greeted by happy faces.

The decor was looking a little tired but it didn't spoil our stay. Just feel the place could do with some tlc.
