Altstadthotel Schex

Breakfast was awesome!!! Very quiet. Location 2mins walk from thecathedral.

Heater is not enough to keep the room warm... we booked for 3 person in a room was expectjng that its going to be 1 double and 1 single.. turned out the extra bed is the sofa itself. Check in time is fixec at 5pm which is late compared to other hotels. Not possible to keep luggage when you check our even for a few hours since there is no staff duringthe day after 10-11am ( check out time)

Nice little hotel in the heart of the city. Good breakfast...

This restaurant situated in the Altstadthotel Schex is completely covered in light wood. Especially the ceiling is very intricate and beautiful, I have seen nothing like it before. Our group was served a very excellent meal. The starter was some kind of green soup that was served very elegantly, see my picture. The soup was in a glass accompanied by a airy ball of something I still do not know on top of a nice sauce. As a main course where was a choice of chicken or a vegetarian alternative. The chicken dish was as elegant and tasty as the starter. We picked a perfect wine to it, a Primotivo from Lombardi. Primotivo is the very same grape that the American are killing in California under the name of Zinfandel. Finally, the desert of some mousse and cholate followed up this wonderful meal in a perfect way.

Hotel has excelent location, 100m from the main square. However hotel is old, windows are bad and during the winter is very cold in the rooms. Room is clean, beds are confort. But, food (brekfast) was very good.

So nice people, nice rooms and very good food.The dinner were great but breakfast It was not very diverse.Staff was very friendly and smiling all the time.The classic Bavarian restaurant has an intimate cosy atmosphere,traditional food.
