Hotel Der Distelhof - ihr Land- und Tagungshotel zwischen Rennsteig, Rhön & Werratal

There is nothing better that the special warmth of such type of construction. Maybe only the warmth of the Der Distelhof Team.

Great location near Suhl, friendly staff and good atmosfere.

The beds are al little hard, but thats personel prefrence. Also, the breakfast is a little expensive for the money.

Very welcoming and accommodating staff.

Everything was good.

The room/bathroom was a bit basic and small for 2 people but the beds were really confortable. I asked for an extra blanket and I got it. Bedding and blankets are soft. Everything in the room was remarcably clean. Probably a great location for hiking.- unfortunately the weather was miserable when we were there and the hotel/village has nothing to do in such a case: no lounge, common area, dining options after 18 h, etc.

It's July and the hotel seemed to have no other guests or workers besides the guy who greeted us upon our arrival. The parking was seemingly empty and there are no common areas for days like when we were there, when it was rainy and miserable outside. There are no cooking/dining/eating facilities in the hotel or nearby. We were sent to a nearby restaurant in the village, that was actually closed. Other dining options we tried using Google were closed at 20 h as well. At check out time at 10 am, the reception area was locked/closed. Not a big fan of the location though.

Nice location that is very accesable. Very friendly and helpfull staff that tried their best to be understandable for us, because we dont speak german. Also, the garage boxes were a nice extra.

The beds were a little bit uncomfortable and because only one of the two windows had a fly screen, we either had bugs in our room or it was a little hot. Also, the parking room is a little small for the amount of people the hotel can have.

very very clean.everything was clean and smell good. The boss there was very kind and cool I wished to stay longer.
