Hotel Garni Aich

We loved the old money feel of this hotel, and even though it's a bit dated, this is part of its charm :) The location on the main street was perfect for ending one day's hike and starting the next, and it was so easy to walk to restaurants, bakeries, and the supermarket. The staff was friendly and did their best to communicate with us in English as our German is pretty awful. The room was spacious and had lovely windows facing the main street, which can make for a bit of noise, but since everything calms down quite early, noise wasn't a problem for us.

Knowing that there is competion in the area, you didn't offer a discount or reduced price for Gasthof clients on Café goods.

We had a beautiful and comfortable room that looked out on the St. Blasien Dom (Cathedral). The bakery below provided a tasty continental breakfast (the bread rolls were AMAZING). The proprietors were hospitable, communicative, and helpful with suggestions on where to eat and hike.

The WiFi was spotty at best. But we were only there for one night so didn't feel the need to inquire if we should do something different.

was very expensive and not including breakfast either making it even more expensive. no bin for rubblish, a mini bar with no price list. no Wi-Fi code.
