Hotel Gsteig

A mid-sized hotel in a lovely location, with gorgeous views and overall great service. The staff were all fantastic - friendly, helpful, professional, you name it. So big thumbs up for them.

We booked via Booking.com (obvs) and were offered a 'family room'. Which one would assume means the hotel is geared up for children/families. However, the official pool rules state that children are only allowed into the pool for a few hours in the morning, there was no play area/ playground, and the restaurant didn't really cater to children: we had to ask or a children's menu, there were no colouring pens, no children's cutlery, that kind of stuff (admittedly, it's not a huge issue). The hotel is a Golf Hotel writ large, and I think it would do well to advertise this more clearly on Booking.com. It's not a family-friendly hotel (at least not for small kids who have yet to develop a golfing hobby), and, while the area surrounding the hotel *is* gorgeous, it is almost exclusively golf greens. One final, small matter: the lounge area of our hotel room was nice, modern, clean, etc. - but it really lacked character or an X factor. It wasn't a space one would want to necessarily hang out in.

Le lieu qui est très beau. Très bonne qualité de la literie. Espace spa très beau. Piscine très très belle avec une belle vue sur les montagnes. Pour les golfeurs le parcours de golf est superbe.

Nous avions une suite familiale joliment décorée au 1er étage mais nous entendions les bruits de la cuisine de 5h le matin à minuit. Roulement des chariots porte des cuisines qui claque. Ça gâche complètement le séjour.Nous nous attendions à nous reposer dans ce bel endroit….Nous n’avons pas aimé le fait que la terrasse de la chambre soit partagée avec les autres chambres du même niveau. Nous avons trouvé le service du restaurant très très lent et les mets sans saveurs par rapport au prix. Réassort très très lent du buffet du petit déjeuner et service à désirer…

Die Lage des Hotels bietet eine spektakuläre Aussicht auf die Berge und das malerische Voralpenland - das ist für mich das größte Plus der Unterkunft. Das Hotel hat einen tollen (nicht sehr großen) Innenpool und einen schönen Spa- und Fitnessbereich. Alles sehr sauber und gepflegt. Direkt daneben ein Golfplatz in Panoramalage. Das Essen im Restaurant war gut, das Frühstück sogar hervorragend. Insgesamt haben wir uns hier wohl gefühlt.

Das Hotel wirbt mit "Genießen Sie den Ausblick auf die wunderbare Natur und die Berge rund um das Golf- und Spa-Hotel im Allgäu." Wir hatten Zimmer der Kategorie "Auerberg" mit Aussicht nach Norden - leider in dem Punkt eine herbe Enttäuschung, "Aussicht auf den Hinterhof des Hotels" wäre treffender gewesen. Immerhin war es ein sehr gepflegter Hinterhof. Außerdem kann man auf dem Gelände nicht einfach spazieren gehen, weil der Golfsport im Vordergrund steht: Golfcarts fahren überall und nicht unbedingt rücksichtsvoll, zudem muss man auf den wenigen Spazierwegen stets mit verirrten Golfbällen rechnen. Das waren die beiden einzigen Punkte, die nicht so toll waren.

Tolle Lage, sehr sauberes und komfortables Hotel. Freundlicher Service, ausgesprochen gutes Essen
