Romantik Hotel Knippschild

Not much to find in this little village in the countryside. That is if you do not take this hotel in consideration. What a nice place it is. Typically german Landhotel, extended over the years. I was given room 206 which is a single room, it has a very comfortable bed, nice bathroom, free wifi, you need to climb some stairs to get there. The room is on the small side which made it impossible to fit a small writing desk, that was the only thing I missed during my stay in this room. There is a comfortable chair in stead ;-) . I enjoyed a very nice dinner in the hotel restaurant, which was quite busy on a Tuesday evening. As I had some spare hours I also tried the wellnes department, this is really really beautifull, it loks brand new, has 2 saunas and a steambath, enough relax areas etc. very nice decorated. Certainly worth making the trip.

Great hotel in small countryside in Germany. Very comfortable wide rooms, delicios and variety breakfast (with Champagne:), friendly and sympathetic staff. Great place for quite holidays or one-day business trip.

Our room was lovely and large, with a good size bathroom with two sinks! The walk-in shower was huge. The bathroom was very modern and super clean. There is no AC, so the windows were open. Unfortunately, the street was right outside our window. The room was furnished nicely, with easy to turn on and off lighting. On the negative side, there's no elevator, so we carried our luggage up to our room using stairs.

I'll admit I was hesitant booking a room in a "romantik-hotel" when traveling alone on business. Indeed there was no way it was actually going to be romantic. But from that to offering me a room more reminiscent of a youth hostel I found a bit of a stretch. On the other hand I get the sense that there aren't really that many great alternatives in the area so the fact that they have great restaurant would probably still make it my first choice.

Nice and spacious hotel with nice and spacious rooms, lots of hooks and storage space in both bathroom as bedroom, love the library with free use of internet (also WiFi available in the room, but somehow we couldn't hook up). Also great: a Saunabag with extra towels, a bathrobe and slippers, free to use, in the closet. And... you get to choose your own pillow! The sauna complex is, for a hotel, really extensive and all the extra's are great (tea and cookies, water and nuts, handcream all for free) The free bottle of water at the room was a nice plus. The steamroom and whirlpool were closed when we were there, so that was a pitty. Staff was really friendly and forthcoming, polite. We ate at the restaurant of the hotel and service was more than correct.(for other nearby restaurants you can drive up to Warstein) Breakfast was really okay, loved the Sekt served at breakfast. The boiled eggs were cold though and yoghurt was warm, so that wa's a bit of a disappointment. Nice place to relax and use as startingpoint for big nature walks (maps available at reception) or a visit of Warstein.
