fire alarm went off at 4.30 am in the hallway. for no reason. no personnel to do anything

We made a reservation but upon arrival nobody was there. A note on the door referred to the hotel at the other side of the street. There, another note asked to call a number and the we received the code of a key locker. Then we could enter the hotel and the room we didn't reserve. Don't look to the pictures of the bar because it was not staffed. The room was ok. Standard German quality. But no soap in the shower. Free internet, as mentioned in the offer? Not available. But ok, we booked a last minute at 56 €. So, we couldn't complain. It was a clean, spacious room. Nothing less, nothing more.

Villa Otto is beautiful hotel with aristocratic design. It is smaller hotel, but you will find there everything what you will need. Room with bathroom were clean and breakfast was fine. Bad Salsuflen is beautiful bath town with nice pedestrian zones.

We were here as our base for a genealogical tour. The Otto is one of two related hotels (the other is the Eichenhof Antik-Hotel) across the street from one another. The Otto has been recently renovated so the rooms are very modern and well appointed, with plenty of closet space for a room this size. There was a LCD tv and in-room free wifi. The bathroom was also well appointed, with a very small step-in shower (although there was room for a larger one), and an additional bathroom with bathtub to be shared down the hall. The Otto (unlike the Antik) has an elevator, but does not have air conditioning, which may be of interest to future travelers. The breakfast for the Otto is held daily in the Antik across the street and was very good, with bacon, eggs, a range of breads, cereals, cold cuts, cheeses and fruits, along with coffee and several types of juice and water. There is no staff at the Otto, and staffing at the Antik ends in late afternoon, so late-night requests are really on an emergency-only basis. That said, the staff is extremely friendly, very accommodating, and very good at their jobs. The area is quiet, and there are a few bars and restaurants nearby, with more within a 5-10 minute walk. Parking is available, but very limited.
