"very good quality/ price relation. Even better people."

10.0

In First order the staff: Rfaat did all what was in his hands to make us like in home; and he achieved it. the location was also another very important factor: far away of the rush of Luxor city and very very close to the main atractions of Luxor. Im waiting to go back there and stay in this lovely place full of lovely people.

nothing!

"Good, clean basic accommodation in an absolutely stunning location."

9.0

If you want to visit all the important ancient sites on the West Bank and have the unique experience of staying so close without all the hassle of getting there from Luxor - then this is a brilliant place to stay. Yes, it's budget accommodation so don't expect all the frills but what an incredible location. You are right on the edge of Habu village looking out across the sand to the Valley of the Queens and Valley of the Nobles (see photos) - both just a 20 minute walk away. Medinat Habu temple is just 5 minutes walk and the Colossi of Memnon about 10 minutes away. Ramesseum & Valley of the Kings can be walked as well or just a short taxi ride or hire the hotel bikes. Good, clean basic accommodation. Excellent breakfast with the best omelette I've ever had! The evening meal is a feast in itself - all cooked to order using local fresh produce. Or you can visit the cafes & restaurants that are near Medinat Habu and the Colossi of Memnon. Lovely fruit stall and small supermarket nearby in the local village. You are also right next to the Antiquities Office where tickets for all the sites are on sale from 6am each day. Apart from the stunning location, what really makes this an exceptional place to stay is the owner, Refat, who will go out of his way to arrange anything you need or offer helpful advice regarding what you want to see or do. This is an historic guest house which, in his father's days, hosted many eminent archaeologists and film makers. Staying in a place like this just adds to all the other memorable experiences of being so close to these ancient sites. In the evening, you are looking out at the floodlit hills and monuments from the hotel garden or the rooftop terrace and all the tourists have gone back to Luxor or the resorts they came from. Then you wake up in the morning to the sight of dozens of hot air balloons just passing over the hotel!

The location of this hotel is perfect, next to the ticket office and really close to the attractions of the West Bank. They serve good breakfast and you can order a good, big dinner. The staff are friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is charming and laid back. I spent there a week and it was a lovely time in spite of the weaknesses (read in the other section)

The rooms are basic and not very clean. It's just a bed and two shelves and if you are lucky - a wobbly stool. The sheets are made of plastic fiber so not very nice to sleep in. The scarce power sockets are so old they don't hold your charger in position. The bathrooms are tiny, the showers flood the whole floor and there's no floor towel or mat. Sometimes the hot water is just lukewarm. The staff being friendly sometimes are strange and do not know more than "take a taxi ". But all in all I would recommend it. Just come prepared.

"Was a wonderful time with friendly people"

10.0

This stay was amazing and saved my trip. the staff are wonderful people, the food is authentic home cooked Egyptian style food. the LOCATION IS PERFECT. I extended my stay for 2 extra nights because it was so nice being right next to Habu temple and the tombs of the nobles. Was also a joy to get away from the hassling on the other side of the Nile. It’s less of a hotel and more of a quaint Egyptian style bed and breakfast.

It’s not a Sheraton or a Hilton. Think of it as a cozy family run Egyptian bed and breakfast and you’ll enjoy the new experience. If you’re expecting a classic hotel experience this isn’t that but it did give me very fond memories of my time exploring West Bank.

"Relaxing hotel away from the noise of city life"

8.0

Ideal location for the Valley of the Kings etc. 5 minute walk also was Habu Temple (well worth seeing). The local people are warm & welcoming (knowing a bit of Arabic goes a long way) 👌. The breakfast was a feast as is the warm & serenity of the hotel & the staff.

The plumbing needs to be looked at (or maybe it was me not knowing how to work it) 😂

The room was clean and tidy, the owner, Refaat, was friendly and honest, the hotel restaurant and the tuktuk were very reliable and the price was fair and half the price of what I could find on my own. The location of the hotel is very good, only 20 minutes walk from the Teihou Valley, several attractions are very close, the hotel also has bicycles, you can go out at 9:00 am, come back at 11:30 am, eat at the hotel and then take a nap, then go out again at 3:00 pm and you can have fun and not get tired. Refaat is a very good cook and his food was to my liking. I enjoyed talking to him every time and I am grateful to him for introducing the local culture and people, which made my trip more fulfilling and complete.
