Hotel Plaza 18 - Grupo Califa

The accommodation is superb. Both our bedroom and bathroom were large, comfortable and very well equipped. Shared with the six rooms in this part of the hotel is a terrace with superb views and a very comfortable sitting room with tea and coffee making facilities and a well-stocked honesty bar.

The restaurant is down two flights of steep and winding stairs which we found hard work and would have been impossible for anyone significantly impaired. We ate twice in the restaurant which has a Moroccan menu. Soup and mezzes were good but the couscous was dry and there was no marga with it – unlike anywhere we have eaten in Morocco. Breakfast in the garden was no more than adequate with scrambled or fried eggs overcooked and cool. It is waiter service rather than buffet and the waiters should be better trained to attend to new arrivals rather than keep them waiting. 5 stars for the hotel, 3 stars for the restaurant so 4 stars average.

Nuestra habitación era duplex y el baño estaba en la planta de arriba, lo cual era incómodo. La escalera es de madera y hace un ruido tremendo. Me sorprendió que la papelera de la habitación no estuviera recogida, ni repuesta el agua de cortesía, ni cambiados los vasos. Son detalles que en un hotel de esta índole no deberían ocurrir. El primer día no había agua caliente. Lo dijimos y se solucionó relativamente rápido. El personal que atiende en el desayuno debe ser algo más agradable. Me da pena tener este sabor agridulce, porque el sitio me ha encantado.

Tudo, exceto que a porta do quarto abra diretamente para a cama.

It was very quaint and right in the heart of Vejer.

Bed comfy but too small. A king size would have been appropriate.
