HOSTAL XUROY

Clean, airy room with light colours felt very relaxing. Great view from the balcony, it was wonderful being right on the little beach and just able to pop down for a swim. Friendly staff. We definitely want to come back.

Restaurant overpriced and food poor

The hotel is in an excellent location overlooking the narrow bay of Alcaufar. Our room (204) was really spacious with a large outdoor terrace and comfortable beds. It was great to have a swimming pool and sun loungers. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. We loved our stay here and recommend it if you do not mind not having air-conditioning.

The rooms were quite warm as there was no airco and the fans didn't bring enough respite. Paying €140 per night, I assumed there would be a hairdryer, but there wasn't (but my fault, I should have checked). The set up is a bit odd: we were there for 4 nights and the whole time there was no one at reception - which was weird as it is sizable - who could assist with info (like taxis). Only on day 3 was there a sign someone was in the office on the 1st floor (so we finally managed to check in) and the bar and restaurant was closed on the Wednesday we were there (not sure this is every week or the exception). That didn't leave us with much choice as there is only one other restaurant in Alcaufar (Piccolo Mundo where the food was amazing and staff were friendly). But these remarks are just about management; we worked it all out ourselves using Google Maps and Google in the end.

Location is super, great place to swim and admire the view of crystal water and rocks. Waiter - Javier is extremely polite, helpful and friendly. He seems like very honest man. He made us feel welcome.

Breakfast was cold, eggs precooked a day before and taken out from fridge. Artificial jams - no fruits inside, just a sweet jelly. Orange Juice was mixed with sparling water. Ignacy - deputy manager of the hotel Xuroy was not helpful, I reported issue with blocked shower and it wasn't resolved. I asked for a room to change but he could't accomodate that. 4 nights costs me 680 euro and room had view on other building windows. Room had no air condition and the fan in the room was very loud. Restaurant was overpriced. 50 euro for paela. Paela was not nice seafood mixed with meat (chicken & pork).

Fabulous location, we had a nice balcony overlooking the creek and the beach and enjoyed some wonderful swimming in the creek and in the pool. We had some lovely seafood meals in the restaurant and were provide with excellent service from Javea ,Luis and staff A pleasant continental breakfast was provided, simple , but more than adequate and the same everyday. We would definitely come again to enjoy the fantastic location

Rooms were very pleasant and recently furbished but would benefit with more storage and hanging space, a few hooks behind doors would have helped. The reception area was not always manned. More details of places of interest and their location would have been useful

Great hotel in a quiet location, lovely pool and directly on the beach

Rooms not having air con meant having to leave doors open at night and fans on all the time.

Gorgeous location and the ocean front views are stunning. Walking distance to the harbour and swimming. The breakfast was tasty, staff were friendly. We kindly received a room upgrade which was hugely appreciated.

I would have loved to have a mini fridge in the room.
