Casa Viña de Alcántara

Es precioso, como retroceder a otro tiempo. La piscina es una fantasía, tranquila, para dejar pasar las horas... Limpio, desayuno rico y con un personal maravilloso. De 10!

Por poner una pega... nuestra habitación no tenía televisión, pero tampoco se echó mucho en falta.

Tranquil haven, character property, beautiful pool set I. Wooded area. Nothing modern but all the better for it.

Along with the natural scenery comes natural bugs of course, but no moreso than anywhere else.

Beautiful villa feel with stunning grounds and pool. The interior is decorated with refined taste and feels like a private manor luxury estate. Large beds and great views from rooms. Great linen and bath product. Love the rugs and drapes. Inner courtyard with orange trees and tables to sit. Pool has plenty of lounge chairs and trees full of birds. More a 4-5 star to me.

Have to take a taxi into old town Jerez as we tried twice and no parking. Wish hotel had a small kitchen to order from even just one or two items with wine so could stay in. Hard to leave such a pretty place to get into traffic in town.

Great breakfast. Rooms were surprisingly quiet.

Shower is "european" - meaning handheld

We chose this hotel as we were attending the World Superbikes round at the nearby Angel Nieto Circuit of Jerez. We stayed one night in Jerez town and then got a taxi to Casa Vina de Alcantara to stay for 3 nights, the taxi cost €17. The hotel is a 20 minute walk to the track along a quiet road. The room was spacious and the bed was huge. There is a swimming pool which we didn’t use as we were out all day. There isn’t a lot to do in the immediate area if you don’t have a car, but as stated previously we picked it for the location to the track. There is a small bar (Venta San Jose) in the nearby village of Torre Melgarejo where we went each evening before walking back to the hotel. Nearest restaurant is at the La Cueva Park hotel - 15 mins walk from Casa Vina de Alcantara. I don’t know why Casa Vina is only a 2 star hotel, it is worth far more than that. We also stayed at La Cueva Park hotel which is a 4 star hotel - Casa Vina de Alcantara was far superior to that.

our shower in room #9 kept dripping on to the floor and we also had to make sure that it didn't ruin the floors even more. shower needs a new shower head and revise that glass window/door.

We liked everything. The location was convenient, close to the town of Ronda, in the rolling hills and beautiful. Our room was full of character. The horses were great bonus.

Fabulous yummy breakfast Jorge was excellent cook. Tasty breakfast Clean tidy rooms. Clean fresh linens Grounds were meticulously groomed Jorge was friendly. Warm accommodating Gin tonics were superb. Very quiet calm country house Staff was excellent. Hope to return someday Definitely a wonderful place! Great location to see the white villages!!!

We stayed here as it was in the countryside near Jerez and not too far from the airport for our flight back to the UK. The old mansion house atmosphere was interesting with lots of photos about previous owners/occupiers but no history words anywhere. George was very helpful and gave us a nice early breakfast before we left for the airport. We also enjoyed the pool after we arrived as well as the birds in the trees and a Hoopoe on the grass. Although we were disappointed the hotel didn't do dinner, George fixed us a taxi to go to an excellent restaurant on the outskirts of Jerez. However......

Overall the place is interesting but a bit second rate: doors don't open easily, the shower was not easy to use and had a slippery base. The air conditioner was on but we couldn't work out how to use it! There was no wifi or television in the room.
