Fair location where we needed to be

Tired & dated. Needs some upgrading to the place

Nicely fitted room with everything we needed for an overnight stay.

Just a small thing. It would have been useful to have coat hooks in the room to place overcoats.

The bed was really comfortable

It was close to where i needed to be

The staff were charming, helpful and polite. Evening meal was excellent.

Room facilities were very limited. Some cleanliness issues encountered.

We have stayed several times previously and like the location. It’s near to family, and within a 10 minute drive of a shopping centre, supermarket, and eateries. We found it after watching 4 in a Bed on TV and were excited to stay. Car park is a good size, and drinks in the bar were reasonable.

We’ve noticed it’s gone downhill somewhat since our first stay 18 months or so ago. A real shame. The bathrooms need a really good clean, there is grime in all the corners, badly fitting toilet seat, cracked tiles, limescale on shower head. Also two tiny bottles of toiletries which is nowhere near enough for two people. No heated towel rail. Room itself was cold, and the heating controls didn’t work. No curtains, just a slatted blind which let light through. Poor selection of tea and coffee, not enough milk and no complimentary biscuits, which there used to be. Wi-Fi signal poor. Tv kept turning itself off which at 10.30pm was annoying. Breakfast was a sorry affair. Silent dining room, waitress who spent her time running back and forth between the restaurant and reception. We asked for coffee to be told it was on the table - we pointed out there was no coffee and finally a small jug appeared. Menu advertised yoghurt and fruit and there was none. Disappointing and to our stay and could be so much better. Owner needs to be more welcoming, saw him several times but hoodie up, back turned, smoking away. Really not the best advertisement for your business.

It was convenient and had plenty of parking.

Sadly the bed was uncomfortable and the room had a very bright green light that could not be turned off. The breakfast was poor with cold coffee and overcooked bacon and what appeared to be re heated toast.
