"Castle Hotel you were great"

8.0

1st impressions were a nice oldie world pub with lots of character the staff checked us in very young but don't let that fool you very astute and on the ball, Showed us to our room No 3, on the 1st floor and offered to carry our baggage, On entering the room it was very small and so hot but we soon settled in and made it home for the night, some nice touches were the pristine towelling robes on the bathroom door, also the coffee/chocolate making pod system was luxurious. A full how to use room facilities and local knowledge was avaliable for our use but as I said the room was very warm and the bathroom with no window or fan was quite claustrophobic. We had our family reunion as planned and the food supplied was nice and what the organiser had wished and plenty full, pizza fries calimari and bread. All good and well presented. Now I don't drink so had 0% cider at £7 a bottle 500ml. And followed by a nice cup of tea, it came in a clear pot with a timer and chart to allow for proper fusion of said leaf, bit too poncy for me and @£4:75 a little extravagant, ( and tbh I could have made it myself in the room & brought it down) but it was the talking point of the table for a good hour a right laugh so worth the money. Nights sleep was great and undisturbed even managed an early night. But needed the fan supplied otherwise we would have cooked just like the breakfast which sadly was a complete let down the chef must have worked previously in a crematorium as the sausage was cremated and bacon so crisp it was like a crunchy bit of crackling everything else was perfect and we told the waitress about it and she said she would tell the chef of our concerns, Showered and found it good controls were worn and tbh a little dated but did the job after a good old bit of brute force to adjust the hot/cold control.

"For starting a day in Eynsford"

8.0

Clean Room. Comfortable bed. Fine breakfast. Convenient, as in best located place in booking.com for what I wished to visit around Eynsford. Stored bags.

Nothing wrong with the property. I (it's all on me) might have chosen a property for better value at a location close to, but not at Eynsford.

We loved the village location. The room was comfortable and the breakfast excellent.

We hadn't realised that the pub closes early on Sundays. We were directed to another pub, The Plough, and had a great meal there, and enjoyed a drink at another next dorr, so it all worked out well.
