Greenwoods Hotel & Spa

I have stayed here a couple of times, it is the only hotel close to Chelmsford that offers any wellbeing facilities, and I like to work out and have swim when staying away from home. Staff are always friendly and helpful, bed super comfy, rooms are clean, grounds are beautiful and well kept. I haven't actually used the spa when I have stayed as never had enough time so can't comment on that, but I always enjoy staying here.

It's not necessarily a criticism, I think perhaps it's more a matter of taste. I work in high end hospitality and fully aware I am spoilt and can be picky (because it's my job to be that way) but the bedrooms, and dinning room, feel just a little bit out dated. I think the venue has so much potential, just needs a little investment and modernising. It could do really well as there is no competition locally.

Has a decent pool and good food, also a lovely building

Great location. Caring staff and the food was second to none. The food was exes quiet. Best dining experience I have had in a while. Staff were excellent. Will defo be rebooking and recommending to friends. Keep up the good work and high standards.

Very little to say. The pool was busy but we found loungers ok.
