Das Frühstück war gut, die Lage - nachdem ich verstanden habe, zwischen welchen Haltestellen es liegt - ok und das Personal sehr freundlich.

Für mich wäre es hilfreich gewesen, wenn ich vor der Buchung gewusst hätte, dass das Check-in ohne Mitarbeiter:innen erfolgt, so musste ich meinen Koffer in die erste Etage tragen, was aus persönlichen Gründen belastend war.

If you're travelling to see a gig at Substage ( which i was from the UK) this hotel is perfect. It's perfect in other ways too, it oozes character and charm, it's got bars and restaurants around, a tram stop outside and a great breakfast to start your day. The staff ( and resident dog) are delightful. I really enjoyed my stay here.

Nothing to do with the hotel but Google maps is a bit deceiving. Karlsruhe has an excellent transport system and it's a lot easier to get around and to and forth from the airport than it suggests. The 'S" is a tram and although they have metro signs and stations it's actually a tram. I think because of the unusual layout of the city, Google maps struggles with it.

The hotel has an atmosphere - it's more than 120 years old and led by the fourth generation. That's something you do not see that often. Gabrielle is a lovely host and welcoming everybody with a smile. On top of that, the rooms were super-clean. In the corridor a complimentary mineral water can be found. The location of the hotel is very convenient for both getting quickly to the center or around 30 min travel by S-bahn to Messe. Also some nice spots and restaurants can be found nearby.

The breakfast had a smaller choice, especially if you are used to chain hotels. I was missing some fresh sweet options (e.g. sweet buns, croissants). The room got quite hot in the night, I had to sleep with an open window, so in summer this can be an issue due to no air conditioning.

Schon vor der Anreise überaus aufmerksame Kommunikation. Sehr gut funktionierender Self-Check-In. Zimmer top, Parkplatz super. In der Umgebung schöne Lokale, Cafés, eine sehr gute Eisdiele. Das Frühstück im Hotel lässt keine Wünsche offen. Das Haus hat ein offenes Ohr für seine Gäste und ein tolles Serviceverständnis. Gerne wieder!
