EL TRAPICHE

Our stay here was truly wonderful. It's a nice new building with everything that you need (we were able to catch up on some overdue laundry). But what really set it apart was the host and his family. He drove us up the mountain to an overlook of the city, and then to the top where his aunt was building a new restaurant. They embraced us like long-lost friends even though we had just met. It was truly remarkable and heart-warning.

The photos in the listing on Booking.com really don't do the place justice. The rooms are spacious and very nice. And the hostel is located in a very nice spot - back against the mountain but just a short walk into the city.

We had the best stay at El Trapiche! It’s a wonderful family run establishment with lots of personal touches from the welcome smoothie to including us in local events in the village. Delicious dinner available for $3pp and breakfast was also substantial! You can tell there is real passion for Ecuador and the local town! Perfect stay before starting the Quilotoa loop.

Friendly and close to the city center

very lovely family!! They even invited me to a local party which happened in the basement of their lovely house. Super confortable bed!!
