Comfortable bed,quiet room,lovely en-suite

Walls quite scuffed in places

Der PUB liegt im Nordteil von Portsmouth. Trotz regen PUB-Betrieb liegen die Zimmer ruhig, auch Strassenlärm ist nachts kaum zu vernehmen. Unser Zimmer war sehr geräumig und sauber. Das Speiseangebot ist sehr vielfältig und lecker, sowohl abends wie auch zum Frühstück. Es ist ein hauseigener Parkplatz vorhanden , der zeitweise auch mal voll sein kann durch die PUB-Gäste, das wechselt aber ständig und die Übernachtungsgäste finden immer einen Platz. Unmittelbar am Haus ist auch die Bushaltestelle , wo man in ca. 20 min. zum Hafen / Spinnaker-Tower kommt. Das junge Personal ist super nett, sehr engagiert und hat den Laden auf eine lockere Art gut im Griff. Wer als Autoreisender Portsmouth oder auch Southampton erkunden will und das mit einem ungezwungenen PUB-besuch verbinden will, ist hier bestens aufgehoben.

Room a little tirrd

Great location for the local shops and public transport. Friendly staff and a very clean room Large TV, provided soya milk in the room ( albeit we did not need it). pressure in shower was good and it was nice to have a shower cubicle rather than over the bath housekeeping was done daily

External noise . I think there needs to be extra insulation between rooms as we heard the person next door on his mobile phone at midnight. Room and bathroom could be a bit bigger-

The atmosphere at The Red Lyon Inn when we arrived was very friendly and welcoming. We were offered early check in at no extra cost. Our room was clean and comfortable and met all our needs and the room temperature was good - it was nice to be able to open the window. Although a busy pub there was no noise at night. We didn't have breakfast but our evening meal and service were excellent. The Inn is in an excellent location just across from the High Street and within east walking distance of the railway station. The staff were very attentive and helpful.

Rooms were much better kitted out than expected at this price point. Nice furnishings and fittings. Decent TV. Felt safe and a good location for the hospital.
