The Royal Lion Hotel

It was perfect for our night stay.

The car park was very good but a bit tight & small but parking in Lyme is a problem.

Close to beach and shops. Very relaxing time.

Great location, comfortable beds, indoor pool. Staff all very friendly, especially manager.

No air conditioning or large fans for upper room during a heat wave. WiFi did not work while we were there.

The room and bed was very comfortable and neat and clean. The venue has a heated swimming pool which is good to have a swim in if the sea water is a bit cold. Found the checking very professional and helpful

Found the breakfast staff a bit surly and had to return toast for correct toasting three times. Parking was very limited and the staff will block you in if there are not any spaces for them and then resent you asking them to move the car. We had the room overlooking the main street and consequently on a Saturday night it was noisy and there was an innicident with a person banging on the front door at 2am so not a restful night.

Wi-Fi in our room was absent. Phone connection very poor due to location. Having Wi-Fi was extremely important to us both and its lack left us isolated and frustrated. With respect, fix the damn Wi-Fi it’s not hard when the TV clearly has a wired connection. Also toilet seat needs maintenance.

Good location and parking on site. Reasonable breakfast. Room was a good size.

One of the reasons I booked the hotel was it had a swimming pool and sauna. However you had to book in advance, so unable to use🙁 The hotel also had EV charging facilities, but we couldn’t use due to cars parked in the spot. Parking was tight. Overall I was a bit disappointed with the hotel. It was a bit dated.
