Staff very friendly and welcoming

Good location for Western Fells

Beautiful location. Quiet. Comfortable bed. Traditional style pub with accommodation. Breakfast available at property.

We were allocated a very small room which had a sloping ceiling over the bed, meaning you'd easily bang your head. When we enquired with the lady on duty and she gave us a more acceptable room. Considering there were few people staying,, why give customers such a poor room?

Breakfast was lovely (it was included within the booking) quality ingredients and enough to keep me going for our Scafell hike. We also had dinner at the Pub when we arrived and it was exceptional, our group all had different mains and all of us enjoyed. Murphy's served at the bar and Plenty of Parking available

Bath took a while to get warm in the morning, other than that all facilities were exceptional. I'd defo recommend staying here if you were looking at hiking Scafell Pike and i will definitely return here.

the bar social aspect of the establishment was lovely, staff were friendly and the food they served was great. location to Scafell Pike was good, approximate 15 minute drive.

Accommodation very dated, shower was electric and very poor pressure (useless). Basin only served cold water.

The location is excellent for climbing trips around Wast Water. This is a great local pub, great food and great staff.
