Mama Tungu hostel

Hostel is very well organized. There is a pool and a jacuzzi, a bar and a restaurant. The staff is amazing and always helpful. Seb, the manager, is the best at organising excursions (and the excursions are cheaper than if you book them in town). We had a private room with balcony and was big and comfortable. Hostel is surrounded by nature but a bit out of town, so it is great for those wanting to relax and to do activities organized by the hostel during the day. To go to town, you need a taxi. It is 2.5 usd (3 usd at night) and the hostel helps you organize it.

They have loud music at the pool until late at night and you can ear it from the room.

Jeg elskede det med at der er var et fællesskab for dem der boet på hostel hvor der var all you can drink eller 2 for 1 øl til billige penge og at man ikke bare var en gæst og de var personale men også det med at vi kunne tag i byen med dem der arbejdet på hotellet og danne nye realationer glæder mig til at komme tilbage næste år og kan ikke mere end at anbefale det her sted hvis man står og mangler et billigt lækkert hotel med god udsigt sødt personale og billige priser

Jacuzzi, pool, bar, restaurant, really confortable rooms. The staff are also super lovely. I forgot my phone in the taxi, and the receptionist and manager of the hostel helped me get it back, including calling the taxi rank and driving me to where it was, once I’d been able to track it. Incredibly grateful for their help!!

It is a bit out of the way, so you have to take a taxi to get into Baños. There’s also no kitchen to cook for yourself, so you either have to go out to eat, or eat at the restaurant. Not the cheapest option for backpackers, but if you want to spoil yourself with a super nice hostel, definitely the place to go.

It’s a clean, well-maintained hostel with excellent facilities and exceptionally helpful staff. The manager, Seb, goes above and beyond to ensure everything runs smoothly and is always ready to assist with anything you need. Hostels like Mama Tungu are truly rare, there should be more of them!

We had a truly wonderful stay at the Mama Tungu Hostel. Right from the beginning, when we arrived, we received a free upgrade for our rooms, which were super clean and very comfortable. There’s so much to experience at the Mama Tungu Hostel — from rafting to canyoning to quad biking. We met some really great people there and had a lovely time. What was especially cool was the manager, Seb, who was always available, organized everything, and even joined in on the activities himself, making sure we all had a fantastic time. The highest recommendation to anyone who just wants to have a great time. And once again, a big thank you to the hostel for these wonderful memories.

Magnifique auberge ! Les parties communes sont incroyables avec une piscine, un jacuzzi, un salon avec TV (Netflix + console), des jeux (ping-pong, filet de volleyball, fléchettes, jeux de cartes...), deux machines de sport, une cabane dans un arbre, des hamacs... Les dortoirs sont également tops, propres, confortables, avec salle de bain directement dans la chambre et un balcon. On peut réserver de nombreuses activités directement via l'auberge (rafting, canyoning, vélos...).

L'auberge est excentrée.
