Chequers Country Inn

The beer. Landlord tried his best as he’d only just took over the running of the place.

No restaurant or breakfast. No hot water. Very little ventilation in the room. No blackout lining to curtains so at 4am it was as light as day. Drains smelt. Toilet wasn’t cleaned. Cost £72!!!

A member of the staff was very helpful and friendly.

Our family room was not ready, so we stayed in separate rooms. The rooms were very dirty and there were more issues, no hot water, this place requires a lot of maintenance. Not sure how they are on booking.com, I'm shocked and Very disappointed with the experience.

The shower wasn't clean and clearly hadn't been deep cleaned for some time.

Large room, comfortable bed, tea making facilities, good shower, all seemed very clean.

Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Upgraded me to a double.

Room was a little tired but good value and staff made up for this.

No food available and bedroom carpet was filthy, bed didnt look particularly clean, show dirty and toilet roll holder not on wall, so toilet roll was sitting on the waste bin in bathroom

The hosts welcomed us on arrival, they were very friendly and polite and helped us to move our luggage to our room. The room was very clean and tidy. Parking was no problem. The other staff were also very friendly and polite.

We were disappointed that there was no food available for guests. We had to go to another local pub for food (which was excellent). The shower was not good, only a trickle of water was produced even though it was a power shower. The noise from the bar disturbed our sleep, very noisy clientele and music. At about 3am, there was an almighty row between guests in an adjoining room which woke us (not the hosts fault, but still disappointing).

What a gem lovely small village and it was very nice indeed lovely staff
