The Mash Tun

The staff, delicious and generous breakfasts, television channels and all subscriptions Apple, Prime, Netflix etc., The Mash Tun is on the banks of the river Spey and my room had a lovely view of it. There is a car park and plenty of parking in the vicinity.

The position by the river was really nice. Rooms were small but well presented. Staff were helpful and accommodating.

Breakfasts were all excellent. We only had one dinner on the first night ordering 3 meals. 2 were fine the other not so, I was refunded but only after a discussion. It must be difficult to maintain fresh food in the slow season to be fair so don’t read too much into this.

Nice staff, location, very clean room etc. The food was also very good, one of the best burgers I've had and awesome breakfasts.

The owner(?)was scolding staff in front of customers, rather pathetic. The staff were excellent and should probably consider looking for new jobs, away from that tyrant. Expensive but we knew that before paying for it. The room was smaller than I expected though, 333 quid for 2 nights in a room barely big enough for the bed is a bit extreme.

The service was so welcoming and friendly. The breakfasts are fantastic too.

The hotel is a perfect location for a visit to Abelour and the area for whisky tasting. Abelour Distillery is a 5 minute walk away. There is parking in the back for each room. The bed was comfortable and the shower had hot water after we figured out the switch to turn on the water outside the bathroom door. If you are tall, you will get water on the floor, going over the door. We enjoyed the breakfast. They do not want you to go hungry and asked if I was sure I only wanted yoghurt and fruit! Our only negative comment is that we wouldn't want to stay here for more than a night or two. The room was pretty small, as you would expect in a building this old.

Beautiful bed and breakfast place. The staff , pub and food were all great. Perfect spot to stay for touring the distilleries . Our room was very cozy and loved the free standing bathtub. Would definitely stay again.

Windows had condensation on in the mornings, difficult to open for air.
