Kamari Hotel

The driver from the hotel who picked us up was great. The welcome at the hotel was ok, with a welcome juice which was a nice touch. Grounds of the hotel are lovely, lots of greenery and clean. Our Family room was in a great location right near the pool in a quiet location and a nice outdoor table. Upon arriving at the room it was extremely spacious. Breakfast in the outdoor area was so lovely every morning. The young bar / barista so really personable and professional. Bus at the front door for pick up and drop off which is such a bonus.

Welcome at the hotel the young girl didn't speak great english and the greeting wasn't very professional. She pointed out the breakfast area, but it looked dark and small, there was no mention that it opens out to a nice outdoor breakfast area too. We then where taken to our room. On opening it was dark and looked very bland and had a terrible smell. When taking guests to a room, you would think that the shutters on the door and curtains would have been open to let light in and make it welcoming. The smell was terrible, so we left the door open and windows while we unpacked and went to the pool. Beds are great and presented really well. but it would be brightened up. The fridge area is fine but dark. The bathroom did not replicate the pictures on the internet. Yes it was a great space, but cracked tiles mould and dirt around the shower was terrible. I get things deteriorate over time and bathrooms and expensive to renovate but for the price they are charging per night, we expected better in comparison to other accommodation we visited while in Mykonos. The pool was mirky / cloudy everyday which didn't make it very inviting at all. Either chemical overload or not enough. When mentioned to a senior manager he said, no our pool is fine and looked after. All guests had the same view as we did. Breakfast, there are lots of options but no of quality. Cereals all stale, this was address with staff, and new cereal put out but all was still stale. Milk was so warm, so had to ask for fresh milk for cereal. Juice seemed to be watered down and not of quality. The smell in the room was awful, this was also addressed with a man at reception who didn't seem to care. We had to have aircon on when out to ensure it pushed out the smell. The door always had to be open to have fresh air, even when going to bed we had to have the window open to ensure fresh air.

Location was fantastic, with a short walk to the beach and the bus stop at the top of the stairs. The guys at the pool bar were fantastic and went out of their way to take care of all of us. I can’t believe it’s *only* a 3 star property, as the facilities were incredible.

… trying hard to find a gripe, and the only thing I can think of is that the breakfast buffet was a bit “samey” and that after 9h15 the music changed to smooth jazz (might not be a complaint if that’s your bag)
