The place was clean and staff was fast to act.

The property has a beautiful aesthetic and is located right next to the main market.

The parking is a bit tricky if you have a bigger vehicle.

1st) The location. The lodge is situated on Old chari Road which is very near to the main road - The Kotowali Bazar Road ( the majore/ main road : from Dharamshala to Mcleodganj). It's just 3-4 minutes walk upward on old Chari Road . 2) The outside of the property is well maintained. The rooms are small ( approximately 11 ft X 10 ft) but clean, with attached bathroom and a small balcony. The view is good. And , of course with a ceiling fan,which I think is very important during these days when the temperature shoot upto 41-42 Degrees at a higher side in the day time and 33-35 degrees at a lower side in the nights, in Dharamshala, Mcleodganj areas. But, still it is very very uncomfortable without an AC( Airconditioner). Provided small soaps and clean towels. The room has a electric kettle ( but we didn't check it's working or not as we didn't use it) , but did not provide any tea Bags/ sugar or whitener etc or Tea cups. The room is provided with a small table ,( approx: 3 ft x 1.5 ft) with two balcony chairs. A Tv with Cable connection is there in the room. A geyser is also there in the bathroom. Running water is always available in the bathroom. 3rd) Home cooked food is available on the ground floor restaurant area.Though we had food there only once , the lunch , on the day we checked-in , , but, didn't have food there further ,during our 3 days stay. We stayed 3 Days there in Dharamshala and we had food outside in Dhauladhar Restaurant [A1 Catagory restaurant which is run by Himachal Pradesh Tourism Department Corporation ( HPTDC) ] situated on a walking distance from the lodge]. However, apart from the food,( lunch/ breakfast/ Dinner) you can find soft drinks, tea, etc in the restaurant mainly available for the residential guests in Grand view Lodge. 4th) The always smiling staffs, mainly Bunty kumar - The cook cum caretaker cum receptionist cum everything, Arpit - The young assistant of Bunty Kumar.

What we didn't like: 1) The pillows - we felt uncomfortable. 2) Unnecessarily to keep quilt over the bed during hot summer weather. ( 40- 45 Degrees during daytime and 32-35 degrees during nights). 3) Everyday cleaning of rooms and bathroom should have been done. 4) Lack of generator facility. Specially, in theses hot summer days when every now and then the electricity goes off during day and evening - night times. 5) Also, Airconditioner in rooms are needed. We find it very difficult to adjust during these hot summer days and nights without ACs. 6) There's nothing much to see around this area. One can visit to Mcleodganj which is 6-7 kms from here to roam around.. A taxi may charge Rs.300( INR) From this point to Mcleodganj Chowk , wll take 20-25 minutes,( drop off) . Rope ways can be another way of transportation to Mcleodganj ( fare: @Rs 480 per person, ) time takes 30 minutes. A day trip around Dharamshala to Chamunda Devi Temple, Kangra Devi temple, Bagala mukhi temple can be done by a Taxi . In Mcleodganj, one can visit to His Holiness Dalai Lama temple, and nearby attractions like St John Church, Bhagsudhara etc. 7) We didn't like the food,( it's very personal view) the only lunch we had there during our stay.

Staff is very polite and humble. Rooms are very clean and neat. Location is very close to market.
