Ostria Hotel Kakovatos Beach

A small hotel, I figure about max 40 rooms, clean and right up on the beach at the end of the road, parking in the rear of the building. The rooms are normal size, clean, bright, balcony, bathroom, plenty of places to charge equipment, and astoundingly the umbrellas on the beach have the room number so you are guaranteed a place to sit. The beach extends forever in each direction, nice sand, clean, shallow water to about 50m out, warm, a little wavy, and great for long walks. Breakfast simple but complete. Three tavernas within 1 min walk, all excellent. Village up the road 5 min walk, also excellent. Staff were smiling and helpful. This is a great little hotel in a great location, and really captures the essence of a vacation in Greece.

There were only two things, and neither are deal breakers: first, the shower is one of those glassy cubical things, small, and reminder of why I should be on a stricter diet, and the second, try not to get room 110 since the matching on-the-beach umbrella is, like, deep in the sand and impossible to lie under...just trying to get under it is a lesson in humility, but if it is dug out and replanted, then this whole issue goes away.

Large modern family room with 2 balconies, on the beach with reserved sun beds (although only 2 and we were 4 people). Nice breakfast.

Favourite thing about the hotel is its location which is just a few metres from a very long, clean and sandy beach. Breakfast was okay, price/value relations good, clean & comfortable rooms, good WiFi & friendly staff. Would recommend!

Friendly and helpful staff. Good size room, clean, very good water pressure. Umbrellas and beach chairs included.

They allow dogs and not all dog owners are considerate to keep dogs quiet and clean up their mess.
