Ayu Hotel Karimunjawa

A paradise island completely for the (few in our case) guests! Excellent service, wonderful rooms and common areas, great food, including locally made bread and pastries. Around you have a calm lagoon where to swim and do some snorkelling and further the open sea with amazing snorkelling, all steps away from your room. There is the opportunity also to do wonderful excursions for snorkelling or diving, and Roberta really makes you feel at ease to participate in these activities and, in my case, to try diving, something I had always wanted to do but never had the courage to. The staff is amazing, with smiles and gentleness at all levels, including the manager Sandro who personally makes sure you have a great time. The best resort I have ever been.

Some communication problems related to the booking of the transportation to the resort - which is a bit remote, 30 minutes by private speedboat from Karimunjawa island, which can be reached by 30 minutes flight or 2 hrs. ferry from the mainland - as initially it appeared that we would have to arrange our own transportation from the port to the airport to catch the speedboat as they were picking up other guests there. The problems were eventually solved and immediately forgotten as soon as we were in the care of the wonderful staff.

We had a very good time there. The island is beautiful. The hotel is quite, but not far away from the centre of the village. Marco and his wife did everything to organise a perfect time for us. We rented there a scooter, got proposals where to go and did a snorkeling tour. They even organised the whole trip from there to mount Bromo and Yogjakarta. We really recommend the place and would like to come back one day.

Very nice place, the owners and Staff are very friendly and helpful. Close from the harbor and free pickup upon arrival to make things easy. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again

The stones in the bathroom were a little sore to walk on but that was easily avoided

Is a really nice bungalow which fits perfect in this location. Having a outdoor shower is a special thing and the staff is very nice and helps you to arrange everything!

The bed was a bit overused.

Of course Marco and his very kind wife! The kitchen girls were very kind and our dear Alib who took care of the garden and so many other things in this wonderful place!The breakfast was super big, with an incredible variety, fruits, pancakes and tea or coffee, as well as local flavors with fried rice, vegetables, etc. The beaches, the port, as well as the village are very close. The bungalows comfortable and clean just like in the photos! Without asking, they offered to pick us up from the port, even though it's only a 7' walk. A little paradise that you can hardly find anywhere else. Ευχαριστούμε Μάρκο για όλα! Χριστόφορος και Κωνσταντίνος.

I liked everything

The hotel was peaceful, set a short walk from the main village. The gardens were beautiful and the villas were clean and spacious. It was very relaxing, location. The staff were exceptional, all very friendly - the waitress, the cook and the Gardner! Most exceptional was Marco, the owner and manager. He was very welcoming, knowledgeable about the island and very accommodating. Sorted out my vegetarian gluten free breakfast, made great recommendations for restaurants and organised a snorkeling trip and motor bike hire. Hem couldn't hav e some more for us. We were very sorry to leave and highly recommend this hotel

Missed breakfast and the package I got was awesome

You really need a scooter (everywhere in Island) Bit early (30min) before checkin. No one. After message all good!

Marco and Eryl go out of their way to make your stay on the island enjoyable. They provide information and useful maps, help with tours, renting cars and taxis all you need. The homestay/hotel is really comfortable and calm. Great breakfast and importantly good coffee! The location is great you can walk to beaches and the main area for food and drinks. We highly recommend
